OnePlus 12 will have a new Sony IMX966 sensor
While the company doesn’t announce any details about the expected smartphone, we can assume that it will be equipped with the latest technologies, like the OnePlus 11. According to the latest leaks by Digital Chat Station, the upcoming OnePlus 12 will have a new 50-megapixel Sony IMX966 main sensor as the biggest upgrade.
When we look at the reports, we can see that the new Sony sensor will have similar performance as the Sony IMX989, which is a 1″-type imager. Thanks to its smaller size, it will have double-layer build and improve the sensivity.
Also, the OnePlus 12 will have a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 1/2″ sensor and f/2.2 aperture, a 64-megapixel OmniVision telephoto zoom lens with an OV64B sensor, and OIS. With these cameras, the OnePlus 12 will offer a great performance.
Depending on the earlier rumors, the OnePlus 12 will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, up to 24GB of RAM, a 5,400mAh battery, and a 6.7-inch 2K+ 120Hz AMOLED display. The phone is expected to launch in December in China, and in early 2024 globally.
